Trigger warning:

This site may, in fact always will contain images and information likely to cause consternation, conniptions, distress, along with moderate to severe bedwetting among statists, wimps, wusses, politicians, lefties, green fascists, and creatures of the state who can't bear the thought of anything that disagrees with their jaded view of the world.

The ‘John Howard’ award for greatest gun control dimwit goes to …

Some of the more condescending advocates of gun control seem to view gun owners as something resembling Cletus from 'The Simpsons'.  It is amusing on those occasions when they open their mouths and prove that good ol Cletus is a damn sight smarter than they are.
Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette is self righteously pushing gun control yet knows so little about the subject that she does not even know that magazines can be reloaded:
Questioned on what's to be done with the millions of high-capacity magazines already in circulation, DeGette asserted that they'd be discarded once they're used.
"I will tell you these are ammunition -- bullets -- so the people who have those now they are going to shoot them, and so if you ban -- if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available," she said.
Magazines, however, are reusable as they can be filled with more bullets.
A spokeswoman issued a statement to the Denver Post, which had flagged the comment as inaccurate, explaining that the congresswoman who has worked on a high-capacity magazine ban for years "simply misspoke" -- "she should have referred to 'clips,' which cannot be reused because they don't have a feeding mechanism."
Yet, clips can also be reused -- and the questioner in this case asked specifically about high-capacity magazines, not clips.
The comment fueled long-running complaints by gun-rights groups that those lawmakers trying to regulate firearms do not fully understand the issue.
"Rep. Diana DeGette appears not to understand how guns work," the National Rifle Association tweeted.
As if it is not a big enough worry that idiots like Rep DeGette actually vote in elections, they have now formed a government and are making the rules.

  1. It would appear that sheer stupidity is a huge asset in U.S. political "leaders" today. Especially on the left...57 states, countries like Europe, Guam will capsize under the weight of a US Marine contingent, send the Mars Rover over to look at the Gemini Moon lander capsule for me...The scariest part, the buffoons who made the above quotes and many similar ones have all been re-elected.

On the last big assault rifle ban, Lefty congresscritters thumbed through a gun catalog and banned those which appeared "scary" when they looked at the picture, including a weapon that didn't actually exist because there was a misprint in the catalog.

And I always have to mention my old favorite Carolyn "We must ban barrel shrouds!" McCarthy...even though she definitively and repeatedly proved on live TV that she did not have the slightest bit of a clue about what the hell a barrel shroud even was or did.

I just can't wait until these flippin' geniuses get to make my health care medical decisions for me.
